Proposed Zoning Amendments for Fire Stations and Other Public Buildings
Description:
Recently, I realized that four of the commercial zoning districts did not include fire stations and other public buildings as either permitted or conditional uses. Upon a review of the ordinance, I found that most residential districts included these uses but four districts (SP-C, CS, C-2, and C-2H) did not include such uses. It seems
logical that such uses would be allowed in commercial districts if residential districts permit theses uses. In order to address this situation, amendments to these four districts are proposed as detailed on the attached summary sheet. If the Board agrees with the staff analysis, then a public hearing will need to be held to adopt
these amendments, The first possible date for a hearing is May 16, 2011.
