Nutritionist II- WIC

| The Dare County Department of Public Health is accepting applications for a nutritionist. The position is part of the Women, Infants, and Children Program and will provide services throughout the community with offices in Manteo, Kill Devil Hills and Frisco. This position will provide in-depth nutrition assessments, counseling, and education; complete vendor monitoring, determine program eligibility, promote breastfeeding awareness and provide education and support to women who breastfeed.
BS in dietetics, public health nutrition or community nutrition from an accredited college and two years nutrition experience; or MS in dietetics, public health nutrition, or nutrition; or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education-approved Didactic Program in Dietetics with two years nutrition experience; or Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education.
Valid NC driver's license, pre-employment drug testing, and background screening required. Salary range: $32,336-$51,739. |

Water Distribution System Specialist

| The Dare County Water Department is accepting applications for a Distribution System Specialist for the Northern Distribution System which will be assigned to work out of the Colington Water Distribution Facility. This position will perform a variety of skilled utility work in the construction and maintenance of the County’s water distribution network and facilities. This position requires considerable physical activity involving manual labor and the use of light to heavy construction equipment. Position requires after hours and weekends for emergency repairs and rotating “On Call” duty for a term of one week every eight weeks. Requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid NC driver’s license. Experience in skilled trades such as plumbing, pipe lying, safety knowledge, and general mechanical skills preferred. Pre-employment drug screening testing and background check required. Starting salary: $28,013. |
